While the cons of IVF can include psychological stress and physical discomfort, this will-established treatment is widely regarded as the most effective, says DR KELLY LOI. Here she gives us some Singapore-specific facts to consider when weighing up the options.

  • The number of woman seeking IVF treatment in Singapore has more than doubled from 10-years ago.

  • IVF costs around $10,000 to $15,000, although it can be higher.

  • The success rate for IVF is age dependent. Live birthrates are around 30 percent for the 35-years and under, and 5 to 10 percent for older patients.

  • In Singapore, the multiple pregnancy rate is around 15 to 20 percent.
